3]LEDGER INSTRUCTIONS
3]By HAL CARTER, Pensacola, FL 32506
------------------------------------
3]WARNING
There is insufficient disk space on this issue of JUMPDISK for the
Ledger program to open data bases. The solution is to click and drag the
entire Ledger drawer from the main window of JUMPDISK onto your own
formatted disk and run Ledger from it.
For this article to remain readable by clicking its icon, you should
also copy the program READ from JUMPDISK onto the new home disk of Ledger.
To do so, from the CLI, type
copy j:read to mydisk:read <press Return>
where "mydisk" refers to the name you have given the new disk.
3]GENERAL
The Ledger provides a simplified approach for your financial record
keeping requirements. You can use the system for a variety of purposes, such
as keeping track of bank accounts, credit cards, accounts recievable,
accounts payable, and income and expenses for your club. You may establish
any number of accounts (limited only by disk space) and enter debit or

balance is provided at the bottom of the screen. An option is provided that
will allow you to print a statement for any given account.
The system is composed of two separate programs which may be executed
from the Workbench or CLI. The programs are:
-- Ledger - Used to enter your transactions.
-- Readme - Displays or prints these instructions.
3]USING LEDGER
Upon entry into the Ledger program you will see an area in the middle
of the screen that is used for entering and viewing the transactions. Along
the right side of the screen you will notice several orange gadgets that are
used to perform various data entry and editing function. If you position the
pointer over the title bar and depress the right mouse button, you will see
a menu which will allow you to open, close, print and delete files. The HELP

These are the menu functions:
